Generally running the western side of United Kingdom, a high speed Virgin train comes to stop at Carlisle on its way from London north to Edinburgh.
The railtour passes Cumwhinton Station which was built in 1875 The building is now privately owned and has been restored beautifully by the owner
In atrocious conditions, sleet and rain the train slogs up to the summit of the line then runs down to Carlisle
In appalling weather conditions the engines return the railtour to Manchester from Carlisle. This scene could be dated back to the 1960s with the telegraph poles still standing
