A former SCL unit appears to be the yard switcher on this date. By this point the switcher usually was a 6-axle.
In the big cut a southbound mixed freight rattles down the former L&N main. Looks like a humid day and the train is going somewhat slower than normal due to the freshly scattered ballast.
At one time IC had a branch that crossed the former L&N main. The branch went to Hodgenville. Today the branch only goes as far as the Dow Corning plant and is operated buy CSX. Here a slug set... (more)
