With the start of Amtrak fast approaching, March of 1971 finds Southern Pacific Train #102, The City of San Francisco, heading East thru Richmond at Cutting Blvd.
I've always found the rare and oddball units to be more interesting and these visited our area every weekend. I wish someone would build an SD-30 just for grins.
Having just finished its commuter run from San Francisco, this unit has dropped the last two digits of the train number and is heading back to the roundhouse.
