I am around steam engines a lot, so I am used to having my hair and my equipment covered with cinders!

Before I apply anything or rub anything, I dust my lenses with a camel's hair blower brush to get the grit off. Then, I'll use a commercial lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Knock on wood, I have yet to scratch anything. Typically, I have UV filters on all of my lenses, so the surface I am cleaning is a $50 piece of glass, not a $1,500 piece.

My RP stuff is here.

Link to my Flickr Albums. Albums from Steam Railroads all over the US.
