Well, I never got one - though perhaps should be worried if I did (Why does it always seem to be women sending these?)

Having said that I have my ISPs own spam filter set to the highest level in that I let them block anything they think is spam so it never gets through. Kept it at a lower level for around three months (delivered to spam folder) and never had to fish anything out, so that is good enough for me

Still do get occasional spam but nowhere near the level that it was arriving at before.

She got through my Anti-spam. Being naive now from getting burnt from the "Advanced Virus Removal" crap, I scanned my system. I don't know if it is related to Jully or not, but I ran a thorough Malwarebytes check and it grabbed this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChange s (Hijack.DisplayProperties) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

I'm still learning Windows 7. I tried to do a screen capture of the report, but I couldn't get it to paste in Paint. Is there something different in doing it with "7"?

I've been getting e-mails trying to sell me Viagra for 10 years. No matter how diligently you try to protect your address, eventually someone will get hold of it. So, to answer your question, it could have come by the same route, or it could have come from 100 other places. There's no way of knowing.

Internet spam is completely out of control, and has been for some time (see: Study: 95 percent of all e-mail sent in 2007 was spam). The amount of money involved is unbelievable, which unfortunately doesn't point toward a drastic change in those statistics anytime soon.
