Default Blurry Thumbnails

I was looking at the top 24 this morning. Somehow the thumbnail of the top shot looks blurry, which of course makes people click to see, is that really blurry or what is it? I don't know if it's a site glitch or what. I've noticed it more and more lately. Wondering if anyone else did. The attached screenshot is very low res but if you go to the home page I think you will see what I mean.

It's because the image was shot vertically and unfortunately the To24 and other featured display positions on the home page are not able to correctly display a vertical. It's one of many reasons why I rarely post verticals on RP. They also rarely do well from a views perspective, although there are exceptions, such as the one you cited.

I've seen the same issue with using different aspect ratio than what the TO24 thumbnail is, but it's usually not as noticeable when it's that small.
