Default Suggestions for composition

I've been reading the forums for months, but this is my first time posting. I have a photo that I submitted, that was rejected for composition. I will admit, this was a grab shot, but it was one that I really liked, so I thought I would give it a try. It was a sunny day, so I'm wondering if the composition rejection was just a way of the screener saying they didn't like it. I'm willing to accept that it's not worthy or not what they want, but I would also like suggestions here. Being relatively new to photography, I've used the forums, and frankly the rejections as well, to help me improve my shooting. Here is the rejection

What I liked, was the way the road draws you to the train, and for once I actually wanted the pole line to help with that theme. How could I have shot this differently, so that it was not "awkwardly positioned"? Sometimes another set of eyes really helps to see the problem. Thanks in advance.
