Default Bad cropping? advice wanted.

I thought this one was fine:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...key=1122996548

bad cropping, and backlit?
its certaintly not back lit..maybe the nose is somewhat in shadow,
but is that really a worthy cause for rejection?

and I honestly dont see a cropping problem at all..
so the only thing "wrong" I can see is some slight shadow on the nose..

thoughts on this photo?
im curious what other people see "wrong" with it..
thanks,
Scot

Fotr RP purposes, it is indeed backlit. We can sit here and argue the definition of "backlit" but the actual rejection reads -- "Poor lighting (Backlit): The image is backlit or doesn't feature enough light on the nose or visible sides of the subject." If they took the (Backlit) out of the rejection, it would explain itself much clearer.

"The image is backlit or doesn't feature enough light on the nose or visible sides of the subject."

And if they put the key word in big letters, bolded and made it flash, it might be easier to understand to.

"Poor lighting (Backlit): The image is backlit or doesn't feature enough light on the nose or visible sides of the subject."

The cropping is almost certainly because of all that empy vastness of blue sky just sitting there.

The front of the locomotive is completely shadowed, the 5:4 crop leave way too much sky, and the shadows and sky are full of noise.
