Default Rejection Question

I got this one back this morning. Can it be coerced into the database?

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...d=659428&key=0

Thanks.

Because of the cloudy day conditions, the darkness of the image and the poor composition, this one is a finit no-go.

Given the quality of your other stuff, why would you even want it on?

Thanks to both J's for the feedback. I like the picture and, although the train is pretty much centered, like the composition as well. To me there's something about the clouds not being a flat wash and the water and telephone polls... or maybe I'm just crazy .

Unfortunately, the photo is dark and it probably couldn't be brightened without either a fake pseudo-HDR edit or by blowing out the sky. The shot does have a nice mood to it (especially given NS' current extermination of anything blue), but I've found that RP isn't a fan of these types of shots. If that shrub wasn't on the right side of the frame I'd do a horizontal crop to show more of the right side, but then again you'd lose the river on the bottom.

BTW--do you have anything else from your Roanoke trip?

Nick, stick the shot in your personal collection. In 25 years, when Conrail blue is just a memory, it'll get on.

Good call, Chris. Will add it to the archives.

Thanks.
Your photo isn't underexposed but it was obviously taken on a overcast day and RP don't normally seem to like those shots. I like the composition BUT it is perhaps a tad too top heavy.

To sum up I think its a good photo considering the conditions but it doesn't fit the RP formula.

Nick, could you make a wider shot of the same location? The image has a "missing sides" look to me.
