Default Rattlesnake Season yet?

Been a little over a month since I've been out to the desert to railfan. When I was out there is February it was still relatively cool and didn't really have to worry about rattlesnakes. Been looking at the weather and its been in the mid 70s more or less for the last three weeks out there. Is it time to start worrying about rattlesnakes? I would to show up to Cajon tomorrow in shorts and sneakers, but willing to break out the jeans and boots if I must.
