Blurry?

I thought this was pretty nice, and a little out of the everyday mode but looks like I don't get it even after 551 photos.

I wouldn't call it blurry, but it does appear to be somewhat out of focus. Probably a bit underexposed too. I like the subject though.

Have you tried scanning it again? It looks like the issue is either with the slide or how it was scanned.

I was thinking of the scan or using a different frame but not inclined. Just wondered it others saw blurry really, ie if this scan just showed up would you look at and say how did that blurry shot get in or hey that is interesting?

I'd say "Hey, that's an interesting, but blurry shot".

I know the feeling, though - too interesting not to share.

Have you ever heard of / tried "Topaz DeNoise"?

Works crazy well - so much so, you can practically get out of focus stuff
to look rather well focused. Works in Photoshop, and Lightroom - perhaps
stand alone, not sure. Worth every penny.

I have had a lot of frustration with my scanned slides over the years on RP, so for my part, I just don't bother. I'm too old to mess with it. Yes, I have seen some awful scans get on, once in a while I'll make a nasty comment (TF posts some really bad ones), but it's not worth the aggravation. Your shot isn't one that would aggravate me, btw.

Well I should not have deleted text, sometimes we rethink, but basically I was asking how much time do you spend getting a slide ready to meet expectations for Raipics. I have 73 photos from 73-80 so I have a little experience.

I don't have many slides on here either. My shots in the late 80's to about 2003 or so have been easier to scan and process. My early 70's to late 80's not so much due to film choices and camera quality. I won't spend a lot of time on the really older stuff unless the material is worth the effort.

Here's a slide that was in good shape and it didn't take much to make it look good from way back in the day. https://www.railpictures.net/photo/772643/

That is great, I was in Avery in June, 73. I only spent one Afternoon, OMG but I was on a long distance trip. There was only one Joe but he did lead a train over the Pass which i followed with my Maverick and collie in car.

I would ask, how much can you learn for future use by digging into one image? There may be future payback on your efforts that is not obvious when working on a single image.

WRT the original image, I agree with Loyd that it is more likely out of focus than blurred. Is there a chance that the slide was not properly seated in your scanner's slide carrier? This can cause an out of focus scan from a sharp slide.

You are correct, using one slide as a learning experience can be useful and I will take up suggestions.
