Too Much Compression

What exactly are the screeners looking at because apparently I don't see it. I shoot in RAW with a Canon 6D, edit in Lightroom, & export from Lightroom as a jpeg at 100% quality at 300 DPI.

3. The photos must be in JPEG (with the extension .jpg) format.

4. Image file size must not exceed 2 megabytes (2,048kb), and the filename should contain only the characters A-Z and 0-9. Other non-standard ASCII characters, such as parenthesis, the # symbol, etc. are incompatible with our filesystem.

5. Maximum upload sizes are: 1200 pixels in width (landscape format) 1000 pixels in height (portrait format). Minimum sizes are 800 pixels in width (landscape format) and 600 pixels in height (portrait format).

Charles has correctly recited the written rules, but as your image satisfies all of them, I suppose that isn't particularly helpful. And especially for a person approaching 1800 RP images.

I don't happen to see much in the way of pixellation in the sky, but it wouldn't hurt to a) sharpen more (not mentioned by the screener but I think it needs it), b) gaussian blur the sky a bit, and c) when you reupload, it is always a good thing to tell the screener what has changed.

Oh, the photo. Aside from being too dark, it looks fine at 100%. Not so good at 200%. Does anyone know whether the screeners routinely zoom in on submissions?

RP does not offer that functionality. But any browser can be set up to do so. I have the Image Zoom plug-in installed in Firefox.

Do you use the one named "Image Zoom Scroll"? This hasn't been updated since 2013. Are there any issues with it with numerous FF updates since then?
