Anyone going to Cass in May?
I think i'm gonna try to make it up there for their "railfan days". Just put in for that Thursday - the following Friday off. What's the weather up there like that time of year?

Rain, sleet, snow and the occasional glimpse of sun is what you will find in the mountains of WV during May. However, seeing 4-5 engines in steam will make up for the lack of sun easily. You won't regret it.
Will this be your first visit to Cass?
Think Tank has a nice selection of rain gear...

I'd be going if my work schedule would permit it, but I can't get those days off this year. You should definitely go, Troy. It's worth it!

No, I have been twice. Unfortunately both times the weather sucked (rain, rain/wind). Last was October this past year, just happened to get there as a front was coming through that blew most of the leaves off the trees. Interesting place though. Both times they only had one unit going.

Troy,
Hope to see you there. We've had two board meetings regarding the event and are still putting together some pretty new and refreshing ideas for the night photo sessions this year. Weather cooperated last year, but you can't go wrong with any kind of weather up there. We'll be making several changes this year to the consist as well as the direction of some of the locomotives.
