Default Golden Hour Shadows

After getting a hue rejection, I submitted this correction, and got hit for the shadows. While I doubt they will ever accept it, I would like to know if there is any suggestions to save the photo. We only get the Amtrak through here a couple of times a year, and the light never seems to cooperate. 2 minutes before the train came is the only time the sun was even out all day!!

Not much you can do after the fact given the train is indeed in the shadows. I looking at the light I probably would have looked for a different location without trees, etc near the track creating shadows, or at this location stood farther down the tracks and used a telephoto lens to catch the nose in one of those pockets of sunlight.

Not to make excuses, but I was allowed out of work for a 15 minute window to get this shot. I had a different spot scoped out, as there was no sun all day. Not even a little bit. As soon as he got underway it blasted out in full force due to a break in the clouds. It really wasn't about what I could have done better, I just wondered if I could do anything in lightroom to help it out a bit just for my own personal use. I don't have photoshop so I'm pretty limited.

Is this the only shot you got? Any frames further away from you? I believe the shadow issue is not so much as the ones in the foreground but rather the white tank in the background at the engine's nose. The trees above the coaches seem a bit over sharp but that can be adjusted.

Unfortunately it was the only usable shot. It was really a grab shot, but I don't know why I didn't just fire a bunch of shots off.
