Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Dash 8-40BW 527 brings Burlington Northern Santa Fe train Z-KCKLAC1-16, a Kansas City KS to Los Angeles CA intermodal train, under the signal bridge on BNSF’s San Bernardino Sub in Placentia. Nearly one year into the merger, ATSF 527 is now owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, but has yet to be formally renumbered as it still lacks the BNSF reporting marks on the cab. I caught this locomotive again in 2024!. (Placentia, California – November 19, 1997)
