"Royal Hudson" 2860 is a former Canadian Pacific 4-6-4 owned by the province of British Columbia. In March of 1977, the streamlined engine and its train – which normally operated on the British Columbia Railway out of North Vancouver, BC – headed to Los Angeles in order to create interest in tourism to the Canadian province. The seven-car train (plus an auxiliary tender and SP SD45T-2 9307) is seen here heading through Soledad Canyon on its way to Los Angeles. (I have no idea what the blue thing the person in the baggage car is throwing off the train...) (Russ, California – March 29, 1977)
