What appears to be one of the cooler consists to lead a train over the Tehachapi Mountains is, in actuality, just the rear helpers on a westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight (H-KCRI1-04) at Bealville, California, on March 7, 1997. But I'm not complaining, as Conrail SD40-2 6461 and Burlington Northern B30-7A 4099 add some color to the train. Interestingly, since one of the units is cabless, the helper crew would have had to be in the Conrail unit.
