Holding on Track 2, waiting for a clear signal indication (a hot eastbound intermodal train just overtook it on Track 1), is BNSF ET44C4 3751 and its train – the Los Angeles to Barstow freight that originates at the BNSF-owned Los Angeles Junction Railway in Vernon, southeast of downtown LA. BNSF 3751, sharing a number with Santa Fe 4-8-4 3751 (undergoing flue replacement in Los Angeles, just a handful of miles from the LAJ in Vernon), is undergoing some emissions testing and is, as a result, assigned to the Barstow to Los Angeles pool for a while. This train’s full consist is ET44C4 3751, ET44C4 3744, ES44C4 8342 and ES44DC 7755.
