Baldwin built 1 meter gauge "Mikado" 2-8-2 steamlocomotive of type "W" # 3525 of the former Red Norte de Ferrocarriles del Estado (FF. CC. del E.) in the roundhouse of the Baquedano "railway museum". The locomotive was built in 1923 and operational til about 1978. It worked for many years for the Northern Network of State Railways (FF. CC. del E.), between La Calera and Pueblo Hundido (today Diego de Almagro). Towards 1957, the "W" locomotives, called Mikado, because of their 2-8-2 wheel arrangement, extended their radius of action from Pueblo Hundido to Pintados and even Iquique, when FF. CC. of the State took over the section from Pintados to Pueblo Hundido. It was removed by Decree 5/13 of July 19, 1978 and declared a National Historic Monument by Supreme Decree No. 1639 of December 16, 1983. Behind the turntable is the Henschel built 2-6-0 "Q" # 3223 from 1912 of the Chilean Northern Railway Company.
