One of Cajon Pass’ iconic locations is the big curve that leads eastbound trains in Summit. Following a snowing night, BNSF Priority UPS-LTL Intermodal train Z-SBDWSP9-25 (San Bernardino CA to Willow Springs IL) is just about done climbing the 2.2% grade as it rounds that curve and will, in a mere few hundred feet, crest the mountain. BNSF owns thousands of modern GE diesels, and a quartet of them (ES44AC 5760, ES44C4 4294, Dash 9-44CW 5088 and ES44C4 4248) are pulling this train. Sadly, the morning’s snow is disappearing quickly.
