Skirting the Pacific Ocean on its way from San Diego to Goleta (near Santa Barbara), Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner earns the name on much of this route. Train 785 has Cab/Baggage/Coach Car 6905 "Point San Luis" leading, with F59PHI 459 shoving on the rear ... at least, to Los Angeles. AMTK 459 will lead the train from LA to Goleta. The tracks, the old Santa Fe "Surf Line," separate the beach from the multi-million-dollar homes on the bluffs … which have had a lot of trouble not collapsing of late. Those poor old millionaires...
