Union Pacific UPS Expedited Intermodal train ZLCLT 16 (Los Angeles to Lathrop, powered by UP ET44AC 2655, ES44AC 7713 and AC4400CW 7198) descends the grade as it passes through Bealville, in the Tehachapi Mountains. If this train had been a little longer, its rear cars would be visible on the hillside behind it, passing through the station of Cliff. Holding the mainline on UP's Mojave Sub is BNSF train H-RICBAR1-14A, a High Priority Merchandise train moving assorted freight cars from Richmond to Barstow with BNSF ET44C4 3780, Dash 9-44CW 4697, ES44DC 7249, ES44C4 7967 and ES44DC 7493 (plus, on the rear, ES44DC 7763 and ES44C4 3258) for power. The BNSF train will get moving again shortly after the UP intermodal train passes through Caliente, the next station downhill. Each of these two trains are beginning and ending their trips entirely within the state of California. (Bealville, California – June 16, 2024)
